Florence Scovel Shinn (1871-1940) was an American artist and book illustrator before this book was published. After its publication in 1925 she became a popular lecturer and writer.

Very inspiring read!

I was surprised how much I enjoyed it even though it does get religious at times. Nevertheless, it's a book whose tone I enjoyed enormously -- it doesn't sound cheesy or New Age-y. I can't believe it was written in 1925 because it doesn't feel dated, and it applies very well to life today. When I'm feeling a little blue or indecisive or anxious, I can pretty much read any part of it and feel better almost immediately. It sort of centers you and pulls you out of a negative mood. If you sometimes find your brain looping negative thoughts over and over, get this book -- none of us deserves to stay in that kind of toxic space for too long.

This book is turning my life around. I've read many "new thought" authors such as Rhonda Byrne, Martha Beck, Louise Hay -- all of them genius and fabulous. This one, after 20 years of such readings, may be the simplest way to start changing your life for the better, quickly.
It will become like a Bible for some of you.
