Attitude Overhaul takes those bits and pieces of advice we've all heard many times and connects them in a cohesive way. As a result, the book is a road map to improving ones attitude. The layout is logical, the advice is easy to understand, and the examples are easy to follow. I especially liked the description of the different kinds of negative attitudes. Each presents its own challenge and requires a different strategy to turn around. If you're looking for a book to help you weave together all the steps you've heard about trying to fix up your attitude, this is the book for you.

About the Author

C. Tropea: Professor Tropea studied and worked in Toronto, Karlsruhe and Erlangen before taking the Chair of Fluid Mechanics and Aerodynamics at the Technical University of Darmstadt in 1997. His background is in experimental fluid mechanics and he has authored numerous book sections and journal publications on this subject. He is currently Editor of Experiments in Fluids from Springer-Verlag and was previously Editor-in-Chief of Measurement Science and Technology from IOP Publishing.

J. F. Foss

Professor Foss received his BSME (1961), MSME (1962) and Ph.D. (1965) from Purdue University. He has been on the faculty at Michigan State University since 9/1964. He served as the NSF Program Director for Fluid Dynamics and Hydraulics (1998-2000). His research specialty is vorticity measurements. His research group addresses fundamental and applied problems in turbulent flows. The latter are primarily associated with automotive applications. He is a Fellow of ASME and the A.V. Humboldt Stiftung and a Chartered Physicist of the IOP. He holds 7 patents involving fluid mechanics.

A. Yarin:

Alexander Yarin is currently a Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA. In 1990-2005 he was a Professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. Professor Yarin is an applied physicist working in the field of fluid mechanics. He received his PhD and Habilitation degrees from the Institute for Problems in Mechanics, USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow. His main contributions are related to the free surface flows (jets, films, fibers, threads and droplets) of Newtonian and rheologically complex liquids. He is an author of 2 monographs, 5 chapters in books and 170 research articles.

Good account of Pound's life.

it brings out the importance of this poet and writer. The information about this poet is sometimes vey boring because it goes into unnecessary details. For example I found the account Dorothy Shakespeare and her various relations irrelevant. But for the most part it is a knowledgeable presentation of Pound's life and work.

The printed text though needs a great deal of copy editing. Some grammatical mistakes could have been avoided by doing that.

If you want the fullest account of Pound's life to date, start with this volume. It is the first of two volumes and will when complete be more detailed than any biography of the poet so far. If you want to understand why Ezra Pound deserves a biography of this magnitude, read Pound. Almost all his works in poetry and prose are in print, a third of a century after his death. Few writers can claim such longevity. Pound is here to stay, because for all his faults he was a great poet--a highly eccentric and controversial personality, as this biography shows, but a great poet nevertheless.

That is to say, it is a biography that any practicing poet should read, particularly young poets... and middle-aged poets... and old poets. And especially poets who love Pound and poets who hate Pound (and, it goes without saying, that substantial group of poets who both love and hate Pound).

I read this exceptional biography side-by-side with the Library of America's Ezra Pound: Poems and Translations (Ezra Pound Translations Library America which I would highly recommend, particularly as a method of approaching Pound's early verse. I got so much out of Volume 1 of this biography that I am actually anxious lest something untoward happen to A. David Moody before he can complete Volume 2.

Excellent Overview of Current Practices

Street Photography Now provides terrific insights into the minds of 46 street photographers from around the world. In form, it is a coffee table book, but that term is far too limiting.

Each photographer receives about 4 or 5 pages of coverage. Many of the photographs exhibit great humor. Some of the photographs exhibit clear signs of pre-visualization, so if you've heard the terms but don't quite get it, you might get some guidance through the examples offered here.

The short essay that accompanies each photographer's work provides insights into the photographer's aesthetics--why they do it and what they are trying to accomplish. There also are several longer essays scattered throughout the book. The book is obviously not intended as a "how to" manual, but anyone who roams the streets looking for photo opportunities will find some ideas to experiment with.

As far as quality, the color reproduction and printing are excellent, as is the layout. A lot of thought and planning went into assembling this book. In short, this book is a must for any street photographer or anyone else who enjoys the aesthetics of street photography.

I may have to wait a long-time, but I hope the authors consider doing a second volume. Better yet would be an annual survey, as in Street Photography 2011.

Good variety of photos

I am in two minds about this book. I dig a lot of the photos... but there are also quite a few which do nothing for me. The good news is that this is a big thick book (240 pages) with a good variety of photos, so if you are interested in this type of photography then chances are there are enough cool photos to make it worth getting. Personnally I like the harder hitting shots which give you a sense of peoples lives in various citys, rather than the "humorous" shots (many of which are just slightly comical juxtapositions). Another good thing about this book is that theres tons to read. Hows this for a good quote (from an Aussie guy called Trent Parke) - 'I am forever chasing light. Light turns the ordinary into the magical'.

Lots of color.

Beautiful book with thick pages and printing that does justice to the work inside, photos from around the world There is a lot of color in this book, more than I'm used to for street photography. Love black and white and the color is a new way of viewing street shots for me. It's growing on me because it does add another dimension.

My main concern was that some of these text lacked an in depth understanding of the subject and did little to explain how fascia fitted into the clinical puzzle. Dr Irnich holds a Certificate of Acupuncture, a Certificate of Chinese Massage and a Certificate of Qigong (China Beijing International Acupuncture Training Centre, WHO Collaborating Centre of Traditional Chinese Medicine), a Certificate of Acupuncture (A, B) of the German Medical Acupuncture Association (D�GfA) and a Certificate of Natural Medicine (Naturopathy) of Kneipp�rztebund and is a practicing acupuncturist.
Dr. Irnich is a member of faculty at different institutions: German Medical Acupuncture Association (D�GfA), Acupuncture Course at Julius-Maximilians-University of Regensburg, Kneipp�rztebund, Structural Acupuncture Course for Physicians at Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA.
His fields of research include basic science research (physiology of peripheral nociception including acupuncture) and clinical research on acupuncture and pain (research methodology, clinical effectiveness).
