About the Author

Theodor Abt was born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1947. He has a Ph.D. from the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich 1977. Since 1975 he has been a Jungian analyst in private practice. From 1983 through 1988 he was a member of the board of the C.G. Jung Institute, Zurich. Since 1990 he has been professor for rural sociology at the ETH. He has been a member of the board of the Research and Training Centre for Depth Psychology according to C.G. Jung and M.-L. von Franz in Zurich since 1995, and president of the Society of the Friends of the Royal Tombs of Egypt since 1988. His research focuses on the relationship of the outer world with the needs of the inner unconscious world. His publication, English: Progress Without Loss of Soul (1990) is available in German.

THE BEST FOR A FIRST READ!

Enid’s Famous Five books featuring Julian, Dick, George and Anne and Timmy the dog, were the catalyst which encouraged me to start reading more than 50 years ago. Thank you, Enid. The BBC, many public libraries, local authorities and alleged educational experts have been completely wrong about the worth of the Blyton works. I can remember having quite a lot of difficulty obtaining the original books as so many places would not stock them. The stories are great to read for their simplicity and straightforwardness.

When one did find copies of the book they were quite expensive all those years ago but great to own. I loved the letter on the back cover from Enid in some of the editions, and also the physical appearance of the book which I treasured as a youngster with the way the books were produced then which made them somehow much easier to read.

It’s a delight to read the stories again in middle age although recent editing has diminished some of the memories I have of the original editions and words used then (but I am now getting old).

Never mind… these books remain one of my best friends for life: they began my own reading adventure so do read these special adventures for yourselves.

Loved it!

I went in knowing this a Mpreg book but I didn't know was that it set in the future, where vampires now rule the world. Now Spencer being born deaf he should have been killed at birth but was not. So many times in this book I would forget that Spencer was deaf he is an amazing person, and all he wants is a family of his own. He gets that and more with the Vampire King Prosper. Prosper never thought he would have anyone in life let alone love him for who he is with his scares and all. I still can't get over how Spencer walked into Prosper life and change everything even his twin brother, Parry who I fell in love with. This is a must read if you like Mpreg.

like the first time the MC has time to have ...

I stopped reading the book about 2/3 of the way through. The story skipped around a lot and I found myself backing up to reread things just to make sure I hadn't missed something....and I hadn't...it was just something that you would think was supposed to be significant, like the first time the MC has time to have a real conversation with his real parents, but it was barely mentioned in an offhand manner between sex scenes. I've rarely ever put a book down before finishing, but I found myself losing interest more and more as the story progressed until I decided that it wasn't worth finishing.

I love this book, it hooked me right from the very first pages. The story is intriguing and catching, you can't get enough of it and its amazing characters. Adorable Spencer, he will crawl under your Skin and right to your heart. First you think he will be get the worst fate ever, but meeting the Vampire King Prosper, phew, you can almost see the sparks fly. But will Spencer be strong enough to show and convince Prosper of his true feelings and love for him? And will Prosper find his inner strength to give in to sweet Spencer?
The whole story is amazing and just has it all. The MPreg part is great and logic, nothing too strange or awefully explained, I liked that really much. I will reread it some time soon, for sure!!

A Testament to the Human Spirit

Written in the framework of Willett's experience with brain injury, this book is about so much more than that. It's a testament to the human spirit - the sheer will and determination of a man, and the unconditional loyalty and love of his wife and son. Willett's story will make you cry, and then laugh, and ultimately realize that within each of us is the ability to move from the depths of despair to living the life of our dreams. And most of us won't have the added challenge of re-learning to speak and read while we're doing it. Every once in a while, you hear of a person or read a story that's so inspirational that it changes your entire perspective. This is one of those stories, and Willett is one of those people. Do yourself a favor and read this book.

Another Example of How Far We've Come From Biblical Standards

This book by Donald Howard shows the ancient and modern pagan and anti-Christian philosophy behind cremation. This booklet convinced me on the issue, by simply referring to quotes from the OT, NT, early Church and modern times. I would heartily recommend it to anyone seeking to know the truth and see the evidence. It goes into a lot of detail surrounding OT, pagan and Early Church practices, and also modern Jewish practices.
Although he doesn't specifically say it, it shows how Gnostic cremation is by it's disregard for the body and the physical resurrection of all people.

I would go so far as to say it is wrong to cremate, based on Biblical and historical evidence. Though, don't get me wrong. I'm condemning people as heretics or lost if they do cremate or someone they love was cremated. The early Christians had many of their loved ones burned alive and the question came up about their burial. The answer was basically that well within God's abilities to collect up every atom of that person's body and from the earth, wherever it may be and reconstruct it again. That's a powerful God.

Here's my favourite part in the whole book:

"For over 1800 years, cremation was never considered in countries which had experienced widespread Gospel preaching or influence. Then in the late 1870's a few Italian chemists and physicians appear to have initiated the modern movement - an irony when one considers that the Roman Catholic Church stood almost alone in its opposition to the process for the next hundred years.
In 1877, cremation was legalized in Italy, the charismatic leader Garibaldi being cremated five years later.
The first cremation society in England was formed in 1874, mainly through the efforts of the Professor of Surgery at London University, Sir Henry Thompson.
Land was purchased for a crematorium, but the Home Office was hostile to the scheme and for a time it remained in abeyance (A state of temporary disuse or suspension). In 1884 a father was indicted for attempting to burn the bod of his child, instead of having it buried. The resultant legal judgement laid it down that the fathers act was not an offense against English law, unless it could be proved that a public nuisance had been committed.
With this encouragement, the Cremation Society pushed ahead and in 1902 an act of Parliament gave definite legalization to the practice. At the same time it exempted any clergyman from conducting such a service if he were opposed to the practice.
Sir Henry was first president of the society and strongly advocated cremation until his won death in 1904. A professed agnostic, he was the author of a short book entitled "The Unknown God", taking his title from Paul's sermon in Athens. His book claimed that God was merely infinite and eternal energy, and that truth could be learned only through empirical observation by man's unaided efforts.
Thompson belittled revelation and divine authority. He regarded Christ as a remarkable teacher, but really no more than a young Jewish enthusiast. In Thompson's view, any person of reasonable education would eventually become agnostic and discard any teaching involving supernatural revelation. At his death there were ten crematoria in Britain. After his death, cremations gradually increased, reaching 2000 per annum in 1922.
It is interesting that while the ancients justified burning on theological grounds, as did the early Christians in burying their dead, burning in modern Europe and Britain occurred within the context of strong assaults upon the Christian faith from secular philosophy of scientific materialism. Liberal theology had invaded the churches., and, though cause and effect cannot logically be established, spiritual regression and the progress of cremation ran parallel to each other. At the same time, belief in the resurrection of the body and of Christ Himself was decreasing.

In this way, burial lost its significance for the simple reason that death spelled the end of the body - a belief which is a clear contradiction of Biblical teaching."

I often buy this book to give away to friends and put in Church libraries. It is information people don't think of but is so essential to right thinking (orthodoxy).

Burial and not cremation.....really does matter

This booklet,by Dr Don Howard is Spot on.Cremation and the history of it,shows without a doubt it is a heathen and certainly not a Christian way of disposing of our Loved Ones.
